The Loon is where the Classic range starts, and it is the most placement-forgiving speaker in it. Most small monitors want you seated in one spot; the Loon still holds together well past 45 degrees off-axis, so it suits a room where people move — or a desk, a metre from your face. Behind that sits the gentlest filter in the range, a first-order crossover at 2.5 kHz, feeding a 5.75-inch woofer with a copper-clad voice coil and a laser-etched textile dome. At 3.86 kg each the cabinet is genuinely light, and it still reaches 51 Hz. Totem also voiced it as the rear channel for the Bison series. Give it fifty to eighty hours before you judge it.
