Bison Monitor
The Monitor is where the Bison range starts, and it is the model that explains the other two. A 5.25-inch woofer with a three-inch voice coil and a 1.3-inch laser-etched soft dome, crossed at 2.5 kHz with a first-order filter, in a lock-mitered cabinet 33 cm tall — and it reaches down to 40 Hz. That is the Totem trick as we have known it since 1995: a small box that images like a much larger one and then refuses to sound like a box at all. At 8 ohms and 87 dB it is not fussy about amplification; 30 to 150 watts covers it. Give it stands, 15 to 90 cm of breathing space behind, and 70 to 100 hours to settle.
