Where two voices make a conversation, three make a council. The middle one is the storyteller — and in a tribe the storyteller always sits exactly where everyone is already looking.
The Trio is the Duo's answer to film: front left, centre and right in the same 145 cm cabinet, so dialogue comes out of the screen instead of out of a phantom point between two loudspeakers. Totem ports this one and adds two 5.75-inch long-throw woofers with copper-capped voice coils to the pair of four-inch drivers — which is why it reaches 55 Hz where the Duo stops at 65. Still passive, still 8 ohms, now happy on up to 150 watts: you bring a three-channel amplifier, or a receiver's front three. Add a Tribe Solution Sub and a pair of Tribe III at the back, and the whole system is 9 cm deep.
For a cinema on the wall, this is where you begin: the council of three in full, and the storyteller's voice precisely where the face is.
