When the very first Model One appeared it was given a deliberately unpretentious name — and that is exactly why it became the best-known face of Totem. Its design credo was difficult simplicity: leave out everything that does not sing.
The Signature One is the monitor Totem built for its thirtieth anniversary, and you understand it best through what it borrows: the 6.5-inch mineral-infused woofer comes from the Forest, the tower above it, paired here with a 1-inch aluminium dome in its own chambered rear housing. A floorstander's driver in a 35 cm cabinet is why it weighs 10.5 kg — the lock-mitred shell is cross-braced and borosilicate-damped to stay silent under it. Even the finish does more than look good; Antonio Stradivari would understand. It reaches 45 Hz and takes up to 200 watts through bi-wireable WBT terminals.
Not a reissue of the 1987 Model 1 — rather what Totem would build in its place today, thirty years wiser, with the same credo.
