Fire is the element a tribe sits down around. Not to look at, but to feel — and because it gathers everyone in the same place without anyone being asked. A loudspeaker with that name has to give warmth, not merely light.
The Fire V2 is a monitor carrying a floorstander's woofer. Seven inches of Torrent driver in a 42 cm cabinet is the whole idea: because the Torrent needs no crossover in the bass path, that driver runs straight from the amplifier and reaches 30 Hz from a stand. The 1-inch titanium dome above it sits behind a thick aluminium faceplate with a finned chamber to carry the heat away, and it is the only part of the speaker that sees a filter. At 8 ohms and 88 dB it is also the easiest load in the Element range to drive — this fire needs no powerhouse to catch. Give it 200 to 300 hours; Torrent woofers take their time.
A campfire does not come up to temperature in one go either. Let it play, and one evening you find the room has quietly gathered around it.
