Totem Acoustic TO KIN IC82 UNIT loudspeaker
In every tribe there is one voice that carries furthest. Not the loudest — the deepest, the one that holds the others up as soon as the space grows. In the Kin in-ceiling range, this is that voice.
The IC82 is the IC62's bigger brother, and the one to specify when the room is large or the ceiling is high. An 8-inch MHEX woofer takes the bottom end down to 38 Hz, sensitivity up to 91 dB, and it will swallow 150 watts. What the installer needs to know is that the extra output costs space: a 246 mm cutout and roughly 170 mm of depth above the ceiling, against 211 mm and 121 mm for the IC62. Everything else is shared — the pivoting ceramic tweeter, the low-volume intelligibility switch, stainless weather-resistant hardware, the same paintable magnetic grille. Two IC82s will carry a big open kitchen that four smaller speakers would only decorate.
So measure your ceiling first, and your room after. Where the space is large the deeper voice wins — and two of them are enough.
